Job Overview

Prowse Manufacturing Group is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Manufacturing Process Engineer to support and improve our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will help optimize machining, fabrication, assembly, inspection, and production processes while supporting quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will work closely with production, quality, purchasing, engineering, and management to develop practical manufacturing methods, improve workflow, reduce waste, resolve production issues, and support AS9100 and customer requirements.

Duties

  • Develop, analyze, document, and improve manufacturing processes for machined, fabricated, welded, and assembled products.
  • Review customer drawings, specifications, models, purchase order requirements, and technical data.
  • Create and maintain routers, work instructions, setup sheets, schematics, technical drawings, and process documentation.
  • Use CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar tools to support tooling, fixtures, layouts, and manufacturing improvements.
  • Support quoting, planning, tooling, fixturing, and production readiness activities.
  • Lead or support process improvement projects using Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, cycle time, cost, and process variation.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations, quality issues, and production problems; develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with production, quality assurance, design engineering, maintenance, purchasing, and management to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
  • Support CNC machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, inspection, and equipment-related process improvements.
  • Assist with first article inspection, production process verification, GD&T interpretation, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Support automation or equipment improvement projects, including CNC/CAM programming, robotics, PLCs, and vision inspection systems where applicable.
  • Manage assigned process upgrade or equipment installation projects to ensure timely completion within budget and operational requirements.
  • Support AS9100, ISO 9001, and internal quality management system requirements.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, industrial engineering, CNC machining, fabrication, aerospace, defense, or related manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, models, and technical data.
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes, routers, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, and inspection requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar programs.
  • CNC/CAM programming, robotics, PLC, automation, or vision inspection experience is preferred.
  • Background in fabrication, assembly processes, welding, tooling design, industrial equipment, or maintenance support is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing standards preferred.
  • Skilled in engineering data analysis to identify trends, improve processes, and support data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication, documentation, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with shop floor personnel and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pay: $60,674.55 - $98,909.13 per year
