Job Summary:
The Configuration Management (CM) Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity and traceability of configuration data for complex aerospace systems and components. This role supports the full product lifecycle by overseeing documentation, change control processes, and configuration baselines to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and control configuration items (CIs) including part numbers, drawings, specifications, BOMs, and software versions.
- Review, process, and track Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Deviations, and Waivers.
- Maintain accurate configuration baselines across design, development, manufacturing, and maintenance phases.
- Support configuration audits (PCA, FCA) and ensure conformance to AS9100, MIL-STD-973, and other aerospace standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and production teams to ensure the correct configuration of products throughout development and delivery.
- Administer and maintain PLM/CM systems such as Windchill, Teamcenter, or equivalent tools.
- Generate configuration status accounting reports and ensure accurate recordkeeping of all CM-related activities.
- Assist in developing and improving CM procedures, work instructions, and policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of experience in Configuration Management, preferably in aerospace or defense industries.
- Working knowledge of configuration management standards (e.g., ANSI/EIA-649, MIL-STD-973, AS9100).
- Proficiency with PLM tools (Windchill, Teamcenter, SAP, ENOVIA, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
- CMII certification or coursework in Configuration/Data Management.
- Experience with government or DoD contracts.
- Familiarity with export control and ITAR compliance.
Hours: 7:30am- 5pm
