Job Summary
General Description
The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of their practice. The RN will function as a primary care giver.
Responsibility
Conducts assessments, documents care, provides emotional support, coordinates transfers, recovers patients, circulates cases, assist with processing instruments/equipment in central sterilizing and prepares patients for surgery. Assist other staff members and provides patient education. Knowledge of and/or interest in technical procedures and care. Adheres to principles of infection control and general policies of the department.
Accountability
Reports directly to the Surgical Services Manager.
Special Demands
Mental: Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations. Able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people and have good communication skills.
Physical: Long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting. Exposure to blood and body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells and infectious diseases possible.
Qualifications
Education: RN graduate with current Colorado licensure.
Experience: 3 Years OR/PACU experience preferred.
Skills: ACLS certification preferred. If not certified, must obtain certification within twelve (12) months.
Employment Variables
General working hours are 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 pm Monday thru Friday. Will rotate surgical call with other staff on an every other week schedule.
Salary Range
$34.03 – $41.85 per hour based on experience plus night and weekend shift differential and a department differential of $7.00 per hour. This is a fulltime benefitted position that includes, paid time off, paid sick time, holiday pay, Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance, life and disability insurance and automatic enrollment in retirement plan with employer match.
