Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment. The Medical Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and efficient operations. The most important task is to keep the doctors on time.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage front desk operations including answering multi-line phone systems, scheduling appointments, and handling patient inquiries.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits, copay or deductible.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process medical collections and assist with billing inquiries.
- Respond to and send out referrals to other provider offices.
- Manage new and refill prescription requests.
- Handle clerical tasks including filing, typing, maintaining office supplies, and light cleaning.
Skills
- Proficient in medical terminology and coding (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding).
- Experience with Availilty, Mypres, Medicare/Medicaid/VA.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for effective communication with diverse patient populations.
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred; dental office experience is also valued.
Hours up to 40 hours per week
- Mon: 8:00 am - 6 pm
- Tue: 8:00 am -4 pm
- Wed: 8:00 am - 6 pm
- Thur: Flexible time for staff - closed to patients
- Fri: 8:00 am -4 pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
