Accountant / Bookkeeper: Black Diamond
Provident Electric, Inc. is a residential electrical company that has been in business since 1985. We have offices in Black Diamond, Ellensburg, Tri-cities, and Spokane. We employ a staff of 300 for work in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Our electricians specialize in all aspects of residential wiring.
We are seeking a candidate with strong experience and a desire for a long-term position at a traditional on-site office.
Compensation and Benefits:
· $50 Per hour

Responsibilities:
· Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
· Maintain the General Ledger and reconcile accounts.
· File tax forms and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local governments.
· File licensing forms and maintain licenses in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho jurisdictions.
· Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliation, and accruals.
· Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management and external auditors.
· Process payroll for all departments.
· Handle accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements.
· Apply payments from customers and pay vendor accounts.
· Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards, recommending, and implementing best practices.
· Coordinate 3 staff members reporting to and supporting this position.
Qualifications:
· Broad experience in small business accounting and bookkeeping required.
· Bachelor’s Degree and CPA designation strongly preferred.
· Experience in a similar senior accounting role strongly preferred.
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis.
· Experience in Washington, Oregon and Idaho jurisdictions preferred.
· Proficient in using Sage accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
· Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
· Detail oriented, with strong organizational skills and ability to manage continuous workflow in a high volume, multi-tasking environment.
· Ability to communicate with customers and peers effectively and professionally.
· Regular and predictable attendance on site is an essential function of this position (40 hours per week). Overtime is available and preferred.
