Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).

Qualifications Include

• NBCOT certification (renewal optional),
• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program,
• Current state licensure in good standing,
• CPR certification (obtained upon hire or during orientation),
• Preference for one year of experience, though new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and follow treatment plans,
• Chart patient progress accurately and timely,
• Utilize therapy software effectively,
• Maintain professional relationships and confidentiality,
• Participate in community health projects,
• Assist in patient evacuation when needed,
• Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary team,
• Adhere to safety, sanitation, and company policies,
• Demonstrate good body mechanics and dependability,
• Exhibit excellent customer service with a positive attitude.
  
  

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good judgment are essential, along with physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting and moving patients. The role emphasizes professionalism, integrity, and compliance with all applicable laws and organizational standards.
