Senior Laboratory Assistant - Evening/Nights

**Description** **This posting is for multiple openings at Providence Regional Medical Center, Everett, WA. We offer day, evening, & night shifts, as well as on-call, part time and full time opportunities.** The Senior Laboratory Assistant is responsible for clinical laboratory duties to include, but not limited to: * Phlebotomy: Performs venipuncture and capillary procedures on pediatric and adult inpatient and outpatients based on orders in the laboratory information system (LIS) or outpatient requisitions. Including legal collections. * Data Entry: Orders testing in LIS based on physician orders. Cancels and redraws orders per policy. Documents communication with care team in LIS as required by policy. * Handles and processes specimens for testing at PRMCE and reference laboratories. Specimens include blood, urine, cultures, and other body fluids. * Packages and ships laboratory specimens. * Performs testing as required. Maintains competency as required. * Maintains inventory of supplies needed to perform job. * Performs documentation as needed for maintenance, QC, unusual occurrences, and shift communication. * Couriers specimens between campuses as required. * Communicates effectively and professionally to all caregivers and patients. Diploma or GED Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification or Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification.
