**The Role:**
The Executive Director of Revenue Cycle plays a critical role in driving the financial success of the organization through strategic planning, continuous improvement, operational oversight, and collaboration across corporate, facility, clinic, and vendor teams.
This role provides strategic direction and oversight of revenue cycle operations across the Providence Clinical Network (PCN), with a strong focus on ambulatory revenue cycle including point-of-service collections, financial clearance, charging, coding, billing, insurance and self-pay collections, and reimbursement.
This position oversees the PCN R1 contract and ensures successful execution and compliance with contractual obligations. The primary vendor management focus is optimizing R1 performance in revenue realization, cash collections, risk-share agreement compliance, and revenue maximization.
The Executive Director maintains current knowledge of industry trends and regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across revenue cycle and professional business operations.
This leader builds effective partnerships with PCN financial and clinical leaders, caregivers, and physicians, and continuously evaluates end-to-end revenue cycle processes to maintain best practice standards and achieve service and quality commitments. The role ensures stakeholders are fully informed on performance and key influencing factors.

**What You'll Do:**
**Revenue Cycle Strategy & Vendor Management**
Provide strategic direction of the PCN R1 contract, ensuring alignment with Providence goals and regulatory compliance
Identify, mitigate, and escalate risks associated with the PCN R1 contract to promote long-term stability in the professional revenue cycle
Monitor and evaluate R1 performance, ensuring deliverables are met and aligned with performance expectations
Resolve issues and disputes related to contract execution with a focus on mutually beneficial outcomes
Foster a collaborative, high-performance partnership with R1 based on accountability, responsiveness, and transparency
**Operational Leadership & Performance Optimization**
Align professional revenue cycle strategy with business objectives to maximize cash collections and reduce cost to collect
Establish standard key performance indicators for professional billing across the PCN
Translate KPIs into financial business cases and implement process improvements to achieve best practice performance
Lead system optimization initiatives across the core EHR and third-party vendor solutions
**Governance, Communication & Execution**
Establish and facilitate governance meetings to promote alignment across operations, IS, vendors, and executive leadership
Develop communication mechanisms to effectively cascade complex financial, technical, and payer-related information to diverse audiences
Ensure delivery of client-facing deliverables (reports, presentations, meetings) in a timely and accurate manner
Represent revenue cycle on key committees to drive standardization while accommodating necessary variation
**Analytics, Reporting & Insights**
Partner with data and analytics teams to develop reporting that provides insight into revenue cycle performance drivers
Leverage data to drive decision-making, performance improvement, and operational transparency
Monitor and manage revenue cycle issues through escalation processes, ensuring timely resolution and communication
**Stakeholder Engagement & Organizational Alignment**
Build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across regions and functions (HR, IT, Contracting, Finance, Clinical)
Lead efforts to improve revenue cycle business literacy across the organization
Serve as a point of escalation for revenue cycle issues, ensuring closure and communication across clinics
Represent the revenue cycle function with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate

**What You’ll Bring**
**Education & Credentials**
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field; or equivalent experience
Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
**Experience & Expertise**
12 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare administration and/or operations with emphasis on management, business, or account management
10 or more years of leadership experience
2 years of in-depth experience with Epic, including understanding of best practice infrastructure to drive optimal revenue cycle performance
Demonstrated knowledge of ambulatory revenue cycle concepts, including billing, coding, collections, and reimbursement
Strong understanding of revenue cycle operations, vendor partnerships, and performance optimization
Advanced ability to analyze and interpret financial data
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to analyze complex information and determine appropriate solutions
Demonstrated ability to build strong customer and stakeholder relationships, including executive leadership
Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
Ability to lead and manage teams effectively
Ability to represent the organization with external constituents
Strong public relations and interpersonal skills
Proven organizational and prioritization skills with ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
