Endoscopic Technician

Description

Under the direction of a Charge RN, prepares all equipment for endoscopic procedures, cleans equipment properly using appropriate protocols and procedures, prepares equipment for repair and tracks repairs, and assists in all Endoscopic procedures for the proper operation Gastroenterology Endoscopic unit. Accountable for demonstrating knowledge of principles and practice of aseptic techniques, and all Quality assurance activities related to infection control and disinfection/sterilization of endoscopic equipment.

Required Qualifications:

• Upon Hire:
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification --or--
• Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License --or--
• Washington Surgical Technologist Registration
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
• Within on year of hire:
• National Certified Endoscope Reprocessor - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association --or--
• National Flexible Endoscope Reprocessors - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
• 1 year of previous experience required to include scope processing, scheduling procedures, computer data entry, and assisting in the procedure room

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of previous experience required to include scope processing, scheduling procedures, computer data entry, and assisting in the procedure room

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
