What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floor Manager position at Providence Wine & Spirits?
Floor Manager – Providence Wine & Spirits
Location: Mount Juliet, TN Job Type: Full-Time Reports To: Store Management
About Us
Providence Wine & Spirits is a premier liquor, wine, beer, and specialty beverage retailer known for an outstanding selection and knowledgeable, customer-first service. We're growing — and looking for a hands-on leader to help run the show on the sales floor every day.
About the Role
We're hiring a Floor Manager — an assistant management role responsible for running day-to-day floor operations so Store Management can focus on vendor meetings, ordering, and building out our growing selection. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on staying busy, leading a team, and being the go-to person when things need to get done.
You'll be the boots-on-the-ground leader during your shifts: directing staff, taking care of customers, keeping the store looking sharp, and making sure customer service and stocking happen smoothly and accurately.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and support floor staff during your shifts, delegating tasks and keeping the team on track
- Serve as the primary point of contact for staff and customers when Store Management is off the floor (in vendor meetings, ordering, etc.)
- Ensure product is stocked, faced, rotated, and merchandised to standard on the sales floor and in the cooler
- Assist with pricing, tagging, and maintaining accurate shelf signage
- Handle day-to-day customer service issues and escalate as needed
- Help train new team members on store procedures and customer service standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store — floor, back stock, and receiving areas
- Step in on registers, carry-outs, and general floor support as needed
- Communicate clearly with Store Management on inventory needs, issues, and daily operations
What We're Looking For
- Prior retail supervisory or assistant manager experience (beverage/alcohol retail a plus, but not required)
- Comfortable directing and motivating a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills — able to manage receiving, stocking, and floor coverage at the same time
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic math and attention to detail for invoice/receiving accuracy
- Must be 21 and able to pass any required alcohol server/seller certification
- Physical ability to lift cases (typically up to 50 lbs) and be on your feet for extended periods
Why Join Us
- Growing company with room to advance as we expand to additional locations
- Work alongside a knowledgeable, passionate team
- Employee discount on store products
- Hands-on role with real ownership over daily store operations
To apply: Submit your resume and a brief note about your retail management experience.
