Hours: 8:15am-12:45pm
Pay $40/hr (contingent upon enrollment and funding
Under direction of the school principal and/or appropriate supervisor, the school substitute teacher will instruct students currently enrolled in special education classes who require reinforcement in language, learning, behavioral and/or social skills consistent with the Extended School Year (ESY) services component of their Individual Educational Program (IEP).
EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Current RI Certification in the appropriate subject area
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS:
- Successful experience working effectively with Special education students and their families according to IEP requirements.
- Extensive coursework and/or experience in the education of the mild/moderate disabled population including development of Individual Education Programs for this population.
- Experience working with families of mild/moderately disabled students specifically with implementing community-based programs that carry over to classroom activities.
- Knowledge of current research and teaching strategies for the mild/moderate disabled.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CURRICULAR LINKAGES:
- Monitor attendance daily
- Completes all aspects of self-help and social skill development
- Completes documentation of progress as it relates to IEP goals and objectives.
- Completes summary report to include progress and continued need for skill development.
- Completes any/all duties assigned by the Director and Supervisors of Special Population
- Complete transition requirements and documentation including CDP plans and weekly supportive employment services documentation (All Secondary Teachers)
- Track and document the hours of supportive employment services and submit to Special Education Administrator
