Providence Montessori School is seeking a dedicated and caring Montessori Toddler/Primary After-school Program Assistant to join our team and work with children aged 18 months to six years. This role is essential in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for toddlers during after-school hours. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for children and a commitment to fostering their development through indoor and outdoor activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Child Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children during after-school hours.
- Engagement: Facilitate and participate in activities that encourage creativity, exploration, and social interaction among children.
- Support: Encourage positive social interactions.
- Communication: Maintain open and positive communication with children, parents, and staff.
- Environment Maintenance: Help keep the classroom and play areas tidy and organized, promoting a welcoming atmosphere.
- Behavior Management: Implement and uphold the Montessori principles of respect and kindness in guiding children’s behavior.
- Physical Demands: include kneeling, crouching, and sitting on the floor; must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications

- Previous experience working with children preferred, especially in a Montessori or similar setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and engage positively with families.
