JOB TITLE: Lab Courier PART-TIME
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for gathering specimens from various Providence Medical Group office locations and distribution of lab and other supplies to Providence Medical Group office locations. Monday through Thursday, 3-4 hours per day in the late afternoon to early evening hours.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Pick-up/Returns and deliveries of specimens, lab supplies, mail and other items between the Providence Lab, Administration, Providence Medical Group practice locations and other non-Providence sites, as needed.
2. Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle, inside & out, and inform manager of mechanical issues.
3. Maintain good customer service and communication skills.
4. Comprehend and carry out simple verbal and/or written instructions.
5. Any other duties assigned.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license.
2. Must possess and maintain a clean driving record.
3. Must have the ability to drive a vehicle in all types of weather conditions.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of Ohio motor vehicle and driving laws.
2. Ability to read and follow driving directions.
3. Ability to organize day based on need; be flexible in adapting schedule as needed.
4. Ability to load company vehicle with supplies and mail properly.
5. Knowledge of safe lifting techniques with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, and bending associated with a normal courier environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal medical office environment; exposure to weather in outside conditions between car and office.
