Providence Country Day School, an independent school serving students in grades PK-12, seeks a dynamic, versatile educator who will serve as a part-time Spanish teacher in the Lower School.
PCD offers Spanish courses starting in the Pre-K through the Advanced Placement (AP) level in the Upper School. The ideal candidate will be qualified to teach weekly Spanish classes to our PK-4 students. Candidates with the background and versatility to teach a range of levels are strongly encouraged to apply; we are willing to provide professional development for interested candidates. In addition to introducing and developing skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing, the language department strives to expose its students to other cultures, both historic and modern, to give them a fuller understanding of other customs, beliefs and ways of thinking. Candidates should be collaborative team players with strong interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the classroom and the workplace. Experience with or background in project-based learning and differentiated instruction are desired. This teacher should plan to be part of a collaborative faculty team; and an integral component of students’ lives.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher). PCD students use technology in a variety of ways in every discipline.
