Job Title: Upper School Science Teacher
Status: Full-time or Part-time
Supervisor: Upper School Head

Responsibilities
- Conduct oneself with Christ-like professional behavior
- Carefully lead students to an understanding of each subject including Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
- Confidently teach science from a solid, Christian and biblical worldview
- Maintain an orderly, clean, and joyful classroom
- Create an atmosphere of “schole”
- Deliver well-prepared lessons, utilizing all class time for instruction or practice
- Praise hard work, effort, and aptitude as well as good behavior and character
- Utilize classical methodology in instruction
- Communicate regularly and clearly with parents
- Foster collegiality amongst faculty and staff
- Grow as a lifelong learner by studying in and outside your subject area, reading or listening to classical literature and classical education books, articles, and podcasts
- Daily duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Full support of Providence’s statement of faith, mission and values
- Minimum bachelor’s degree
- Knowledgeable and enthusiastic
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Previous teaching experience preferred
Schedule for Full-Time positions
- Tuesday – Friday, 35 Weeks, 7:25am - 3:45pm
- Tutoring offered one hour per week
- Other work days include Faculty Orientation Week, monthly Faculty Meetings, January Monday Professional Development day, Adeste Fideles, and parent-teacher Conferences
- Summer Professional Development
- Daily duties as assigned
