Job Description:
The Vice President for Advancement (VPA) reports directly to the college President and is a member of the President’s Cabinet. Serving as the Chief Advancement Officer, the VPA is responsible for leadership and management of the Advancement Office and institutional promotion efforts to achieve annual fundraising targets. The VPA also works with the cabinet on institutional marketing and communication, promoting awareness of the college in strategic ways.
Representative Duties
Reflect and promote the mission, vision, and identity of the College.
Provide vision, leadership, mentorship, and management for advancement staff.
With the President and Cabinet, set goals and tactics to achieve institutional advancement targets.
Contact with current, lapsed, and prospective donors through various means- personal contact via letters, emails, phone calls, special events, face to face meetings and special presentations, both locally and broader.
Marketing and PR: Oversee and ensure implementation of the college’s marketing and PR strategies in cooperation with the cabinet.
Manage the Advancement Office budget, supervise department employees, develop and implement the College advancement plan.
Represent the College at various meetings, events, and/or conferences. May include public speaking.
Participate on various College committees, as appropriate and assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Baccalaureate degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
5 or more years of experience in advancement. Preference is given to candidates who have worked in undergraduate advancement at Christian and/or private institutions, and who have served in a leadership position in an advancement/development department (Director or above).
Knowledge of and ability to implement advancement “best practices.”
Demonstrated proficiency and experience in using computer software/platforms for advancement. Experience in the use of data analytics as a part of a comprehensive advancement strategic plan and accountability.
Successful proven leadership experience. A personal record of leadership and service that shows integrity, accountability, and ability to achieve goals.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of constituents.
Strong collaborative and team-oriented interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented, accurate, organized and efficient. Ability to work independently.
Overnight travel and occasional evening and weekend work required.
Knowledge and acceptance of principles and philosophies of Providence Christian College, its programs and requirements.
Salary : $115,000 - $140,000
