Elementary Teacher Leader (Montessori / Christian School – Ages 6–12)

Our small Christian Montessori school is growing and we are searching for someone inspiring, hardworking, creative, and willing to think outside the box. We are looking for someone who wants to be fully themselves — including being able to talk about Jesus openly and freely in the classroom and in life.

This position is both teaching and leading. You will teach students ages 6–12 and also lead a team of three teachers. By leading, we mean servant leadership — modeling excellence, giving inspirational feedback, recognizing and building on each teacher’s strengths, and sharing exciting new ways to support children and their individualized learning.

Math and Science Focus

We are especially looking for someone who loves math and science and is excited about teaching math in multiple ways including:

• Hands-on Montessori math materials
• Math-U-See
• Direct instruction
• Games
• Drills
• Real-world applications
• Integration with robust science exploration
• Building hands-on models for multi-age instruction

Experience with Montessori math materials is a huge plus, but willingness to learn and adapt across multiple math modalities is required.

This teacher leader will also help align math curriculum across the campus so students are successful in both real-world application and the standardized tests they will encounter.

Outdoor Learning

We have a large outdoor environment including a garden, food forest, and 40 acres of exploration, so a love of outdoor learning and nature integration is a major plus.

The Negatives:

You won’t get rich as an educator. There is a learning curve with Montessori and multi-age teaching. It is amazing work, but it requires dedication, humility, and hard work. You will be expected to grow, learn, try new things, and think creatively.

All The Good Stuff:

The people here are sooooo nice. Our families are wonderful and our teachers truly love what they do. It’s our happy place.

Montessori and hands-on learning are incredible ways to teach. Our classrooms are mixed ages (18 months–3, 3–6, 6–12, and 12–18), and students become independent, capable learners who know how to think.

We are not big on unnecessary stress. We focus on communication, initiative, creativity, and trying new things.

The schedule is nice — no nights or weekends. We try to make time off manageable and not stressful.

After 90 days, full-time staff are paid for school vacation weeks (about 5 weeks total across the year).

Full-time staff receive a $200/month medical stipend and an additional 2% of your wages goes to a retirement fund that you can also add to.

We also do fun and sometimes goofy things as a staff and with students — field trips, outdoor projects, team activities, and random adventures.

Job Requirements:

• You must enjoy being with kids — you will spend your days with some of the coolest kids around.
• You must complete all required background checks and health paperwork.
• You must enjoy creating remarkable learning experiences.
• You must communicate well with parents and encourage them about their children.
• You must want to work in a Christian environment because you love Jesus and live in a way that reflects a Biblical worldview.
• You must be organized, professional, punctual, and collaborative.
• You must be willing to learn Montessori philosophy and teaching methods if you are not already trained.

In short, your job is to serve children, families, and teachers — and to have fun doing it.
