Providea HealthPartners is seeking an experienced Medical Coder/Charge Poster to work in our Mokena office.
KeyResponsibilities:
Post charges and review coding related to the daily visits in the EHR/PM system. Audits data entry input from all assigned charges. Performs data entry input of medical services.
MinimumQualifications:
- Posting office, hospital and in-office procedure charges
- Evaluating billing/face sheets and various hospital records to confirm charges to be billed
- Verifying patient eligibility and ensuring patient demographics are entered correctly
- Reviewing charges for appropriate modifiers, diagnosis codes, and E/M code selection based on place of service.
- Communicating coding discrepancies with the provider and/or Management team.
- Ensuring charges are posted and billed within a timely manner.
- Staying current with insurance plans, policies, CCI edits, and billing instructions
- Maintaining open lines of communication with leadership
- Pulling medical records from various hospitals
- Reading and analyzing patient records
Required Skills:
- 1 years of Medical Billing /Coding experience;AAPC or AHIMA certification preferred
- High School Diploma / GED required; completion of medical coding program preferred
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10codes
- Knowledge of Third Party Operating procedures, Regulations, and Billing requirements as well as GovernmentReimbursement programs
- Ability to research, compile and teach coding system changes to staff and physicians/midlevel providers
- Computer savvy and Data Entry skills
- Microsoft Office/Suite proficient
- Solid problem solving and time management skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills(written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
