Reports to: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Location: Dalton Facility (630 Henry Street Dalton, Ohio 44618), Initial training will be at the Walnut Creek Facility (2150 State Route 39, Sugarcreek, Ohio 44681)

Summary

Responsible for preparing detailed drawings using engineering and/or design software. Consistently strive to implement new lean principles and initiatives to further manufacturing processes and layouts. Provide cross-functional technical support to needed departments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for equipment function and flow of manufactured products:

• Applies knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and procedures in development of next-generation product fabrication equipment.

• Involved in project teams and potentially leading projects throughout the organization.

• Prepares detailed drawings using engineering and/or design software.

• Analyzes production flow data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of fabrication processes and product designs.

• Applies lean principles in development of plant layouts and process flow implementation.

• Recommends alterations to development and design to continuously improve quality of products.

• Builds prototype product alternatives.

• Involved in design, development, specification, testing and costs of mechanical components and equipment with immediate supervision.

• May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products.

• May be involved in new product development including developing manufacturing processes as required.

• Will be involved with CNC programming.

• Travel will be required regularly between ProVia facilities including but not limited to Baltic, Cherry Ridge, and New Philadelphia.

• Minimal travel required to suppliers, trade shows, and any other potential manufacturing/product travel requirements.

• Other duties as assigned.

Provides cross-functional technical support:

• Participates in engineering evaluations with Production, Process Excellence, Maintenance, Marketing, Field Service, or Purchasing.

• Assists with drawings and technical information for Customer Service.

• Supports test engineering function with engineering lab equipment.

• Work with or as a team leader on cross functional project teams.

• Prepares or directs preparation of jigs and fixtures and works closely with Maintenance personnel.

• Work with Customer Service & IT on BOM's and configurations.

• Work with Customer Service to approve all customer supplied hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 5-10 years of experience in a related field.

• CNC programming experience preferred.

• Able to work in a team-based environment and is self-driven.

• Should be fluent in AutoCAD 2D, Inventor 3D Modeling, along with Microsoft products, such as Excel, Word, PPT, etc.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a team setting.
