Lead Finance. Shape the Future.
An established and growing life sciences company located in Hudson, Massachusetts, is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to take ownership of its finance and accounting function.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the business.
You will work directly with senior leadership and have the opportunity to influence financial strategy, improve processes and systems, and help build the infrastructure needed to support continued growth.

- Own the monthly close process and prepare accurate financial statements and management reports in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare and present monthly financial results and key performance indicators to senior leadership and the Board
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Maintain accurate financial records and strong internal controls

- Manage W-2 and 1099 reporting and other regulatory requirements
- Maintain relationships with banking institutions
- Support international financial transactions, including wire transfers, foreign currency transactions, and letters of credit
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, reporting, and controls
- Respond to ad hoc financial requests and special projects
- Build and develop finance/accounting support as the organization grows
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Previous experience as a Controller, Senior Controller, Director of Finance, or similar finance leadership role
- Experience working in a small or mid-sized company where you have had broad ownership of financial operations
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Experience working directly with senior leadership and external accounting/audit partners
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability
- A hands-on, collaborative approach and willingness to get into the details
Nice-to-Have Experience
- CPA or other relevant professional certification
- Experience with Salesforce, Rootstock, FinancialForce, or similar ERP/CRM systems
- Experience working within an ISO 9001, cGxP, or other regulated environment
- International accounting or financial transaction experience
- Experience with letters of credit, foreign currency, and international wire transfers
- Experience hiring, managing, and developing accounting/finance staff
Why This Opportunity?
This is an opportunity to own the finance function and make a visible impact within a growing life sciences organization.
You'll work closely with leadership, have a voice in business decisions, and play an important role in strengthening the company's financial infrastructure as it continues to grow.
If you're a hands-on finance professional who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and wants to be more than just a number in a large organization, we'd like to hear from you.
