Delivery/Service Dispatcher

Job Summary:

The role of Dispatch Coordinator is unique because it rotates seasonally between the Delivery Department & Service Departments. Between the months of October and March the Dispatch Coordinator is focused on Delivery Dispatch functions and from April to September takes on the role of Service Dispatch. In each role there are similar job requirements but also specific functions to each department.

Job Requirements:

• Schedule and dispatch drivers, trucks and other service vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs.
• Prepare service work orders
• Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from drivers and technicians to achieve successful execution of work orders.
• Plan, schedule and log daily installations, repairs, and service work to maximize billable time.
• Assist service technicians and delivery drivers to ensure they are successful with their daily job orders.
• Answer customer calls regarding service work and provide superior customer service.
• Confer with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems, and requests for delivery or service changes
• Coordinate and manage the most efficient loads to remain cost effective as a company
• Manage time wisely both to be an effective employee and to spot ways in which delivery routes and procedures could be improved
• Anticipate potential problems, such as allowing extra delivery time during bad weather conditions
• Display commitment to teamwork since the job entails contact with a variety of people
• Be proficient and comfortable with the use of technology, computers, tablets, handheld devices, radios, and telephone.
• Ensure that company safety, policy and regulatory standards are met
• Able to multi-task, be organized, efficient, accurate and accountable to job responsibilities while keeping calm in times of extreme activity.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
