Position Summary
The Respiratory Therapist will perform diagnostic testing, deliver therapeutic respiratory treatments, assist with airway management, and monitor patients receiving invasive and noninvasive ventilation. This role is critical in supporting patient safety and ensuring effective respiratory care throughout the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document respiratory assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressures
- Administer respiratory therapies: oxygen delivery, aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy
- Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation
- Assist with artificial airway placement and management
- Monitor patient responses and intervene appropriately in emergent situations
- Support transport of ventilated patients
- Respond to emergency codes and ensure airway integrity during resuscitation
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy
- Active state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/RCP)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Strong clinical skills in acute-care respiratory therapy and ventilation management
- Ability to work night shifts and rotating weekends
