Job Description: Regional Sales Manager
Position Summary
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth within an assigned territory by identifying customer needs, developing tailored technical solutions, and managing the complete sales process. This role serves as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams, providing technical consultation, solution design, proposal support, and post-sales assistance to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term business relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to understand their technical and business requirements.
Collaborate with engineering, technical, and operations teams to deliver customized solutions that meet customer needs.
Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, solution development, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and closing new business.
Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution consultations for prospective and existing customers.
Recommend and configure products and systems based on customer specifications and operational requirements.
Coordinate equipment demonstrations, trial installations, customer acceptance testing, and end-user training.
Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to ensure successful implementation and customer satisfaction.
Prepare and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), quotations, and other customer documentation.
Identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings through recommended solutions.
Work closely with customers and engineering teams to assess equipment needs and determine optimal system requirements.
Monitor customer satisfaction and provide ongoing account management to support long-term business growth.
Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and business development objectives.
Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer records, and activity reports.
Travel within the assigned territory to visit customer sites, conduct presentations, and support business development activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Science, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in technical sales, industrial sales, or solution-based sales.
Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales targets.
Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and closing skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.
Ability to understand technical products and translate customer requirements into effective solutions.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and relationship management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with 3D metrology systems, including Laser Trackers, Laser Scanners, or automated measurement systems.
Working knowledge of metrology software such as Spatial Analyzer, Verisurf, PolyWorks, or similar applications.
Experience supporting technical installations, product demonstrations, and customer training.
Background in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, industrial automation, or precision measurement industries.
Work Environment
Frequent travel within the assigned region is required.
Ability to visit customer facilities, manufacturing plants, and industrial environments.
Occasional overnight travel may be required based on business needs.
