Overview

We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) for a temporary, on-site assignment at our outpatient clinic in Chesapeake, VA. The ideal candidate will be a board-certified PMHNP with a strong passion for mental health care and experience working with adult clients in an outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments
• Provide medication management and monitor patient response
• Diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders in adult patients
• Create individualized treatment plans and ensure timely follow-up care
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, counselors, and case managers
• Maintain thorough and compliant patient records
• Provide crisis intervention when necessary
  
  

Qualifications

• Active Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia
• Board certification as a PMHNP (Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner)
• Minimum of 1-2 years of psychiatric/mental health experience (outpatient preferred)
• Strong clinical, diagnostic, and medication management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Familiarity with EMR systems preferred
