Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a growing aerospace Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in northern Cincinnati, Ohio. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a strategic, hands-on professional with a strong background in aviation maintenance operations, financial management, regulatory compliance, and team development.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the General Manager will oversee daily operations, drive business performance, maintain the highest standards of safety and quality, and strengthen customer relationships. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in an FAA Part 145 repair station environment, along with the ability to improve operational efficiency, manage profitability, and lead a high-performing technical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Oversee daily MRO operations to ensure maintenance, repair, and overhaul projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with established quality standards.
• Financial & P&L Management: Manage the operating budget and overall financial performance, including revenue, labor utilization, repair costs, material expenses, and profitability. Analyze estimates versus actual costs, address variances, and recommend staffing, equipment, and capital investments to the CEO.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to FAA Part 145 regulations, airworthiness directives, and applicable engine service and component maintenance manuals.
• Quality Assurance: Partner with the Chief Inspector to uphold regulatory requirements, quality management standards, technical documentation, and a culture of safety and defect-free workmanship.
• Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the executive point of contact for key customers, including commercial airlines, regional carriers, aircraft leasing companies, and private operators.
• Performance Management: Establish and monitor key performance indicators, including on-time delivery, turnaround time, work backlog, labor productivity, rework, and customer satisfaction. Provide regular updates to the CEO on results, risks, and improvement initiatives.
• Continuous Improvement: Work directly with shop-floor personnel and cross-functional teams to improve workflows, work-in-process visibility, material availability, equipment readiness, and overall operational efficiency without compromising quality or traceability.
• Business Development & Contracts: Oversee quoting, bidding, pricing, and contract execution for maintenance service agreements while supporting revenue growth and customer retention.
• Customer Issue Resolution: Address customer concerns, warranty claims, and billing disputes promptly and professionally to maintain strong, long-term business relationships.
• Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and hold technical and operational teams accountable for performance, safety, quality, productivity, and organizational objectives.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO to identify growth opportunities, allocate resources, implement operational improvements, and support the facility's long-term business objectives.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of aviation executive management experience, specifically within an FAA Part 145 MRO environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing profit and loss (P&L), operating budgets, cost controls, labor utilization, and overall financial performance.
• Strong understanding of FAA regulations, aviation maintenance requirements, airworthiness directives, and MRO quality systems.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical, maintenance, and operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships, resolve complex operational issues, and support business growth.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical decision-making, cross-functional communication, and change management skills.
• Highly organized, self-directed, detail-oriented, and reliable, with strong initiative, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems; PLEX experience is preferred.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.
• Ability to work in both manufacturing and office environments.
  
  

Work Environment

This position requires a hands-on leadership approach, with regular involvement in shop-floor operations and collaboration with technical, quality, administrative, and customer-facing teams. The successful candidate must be comfortable balancing strategic responsibilities with day-to-day operational demands.
