Job Roles And Responsibilities
- Build complete new business application packets for the commercial sales team.
- Review coverage needs with sales agents and recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
- Market commercial accounts to insurance carriers to obtain competitive quotes.
- Respond promptly and accurately to underwriting questions.
- Negotiate coverage, pricing, and terms with insurance carriers.
- Meet internal turnaround times for new business submissions.
- Maintain accurate client and policy information within the agency management system.
- Process electronic signatures and bind policies remotely.
- Coordinate invoicing, billing, and payment information with the accounting department.
- Review existing policies when applicable and identify appropriate coverage solutions.
- Communicate professionally with clients, carriers, and internal team members.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and within agency guidelines.
- Active Florida 4-40 Insurance License required.
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent insurance experience.
- Active Florida 2-20 Insurance License preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of commercial insurance underwriting or servicing experience preferred.
- Experience working in an independent insurance agency preferred.
- Strong understanding of Commercial Insurance Rating Factors.
- Knowledge of carrier underwriting guidelines and appetites.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and agency management systems (AMS).
- Typing speed of 40 WPM required.
- Excellent communication, organization, negotiation, and time management skills.
