Responsibilities
Client Perspective
- Assist in client communications for specific projects.
- Attend client and public meetings (including evenings as needed).
- Use engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil3D) to develop plans and reports.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and compliance.
- Adhere to quality control plans for each project.
- Analyze and interpret technical documents and regulations.
- Prepare or modify reports, specifications, plans, permits, and designs.
- Contribute to cost estimation for construction projects.
- Exercise independent judgment within defined guidelines.
- Serve as on-site project representative.
- Produce design computations and quantity estimates with increasing autonomy.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Assist in preparing deliverables within budget and timeline constraints.
- Communicate with project leaders to understand scope, schedule, and budget.
- Efficiently manage time to meet milestones and financial targets.
- Manage small to mid-size projects.
- Deliver quality work within defined budgets and labor hours.
- Meet supervisor-defined development goals (e.g., new software, certifications).
- Engage in professional activities and development opportunities.
- Maintain continuing education and required licensure.
Education & Experience
- BS in Civil Engineer (Land/Site Development)
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE). (Preferred)
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Competence in basic and advanced math concepts (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, financial functions).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil3D
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift 25 lbs., and perform typical office and site tasks.
- Capable of extended hours and overnight travel as needed.
- Primarily office-based, with some travel to construction sites.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions and loud construction environments.
