Precision Machinist

Company Description

ProTool Company Inc is an industry leading, high precision machine shop located in Advance, NC. We specialize in manufacturing and stocking wear components for tire shredding machines, and also provide regrinding/re-sharpening services for existing blades. The company offers its services to a variety of national and international industries, including bearing manufacturers, tire recyclers, and the automotive industry. ProTool specializes in small batch manufacturing and can work on a one-off basis per a customer's drawing or sample.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Machinist. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. They will also be required to measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.

Qualifications

• Proficient in the operation of manual and computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
• Experience with various measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, and optical comparators
• Experience with CAD/CAM software, tooling design, and/or programming is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately and quickly
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant technical training or experience (5 years minimum experience required)

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
