Position Summary
The Manager, Operations oversees resource planning and the internal production lines at Protochips. This role has direct responsibility for ensuring we achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review production schedules and adjust line capacity to meet customer demand; collaborate with other departments to ensure timely fulfillment
- Direct work orders and oversee production floor activities to meet deadlines and maintain workflow continuity
- Perform or coordinate maintenance on production equipment to ensure operational readiness and minimize downtime
- Partner with support teams to resolve issues impacting line performance that fall outside the supervisor’s direct control
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost; develop and implement new equipment and processes to support manufacturing strategies
- Lead safety initiatives, identify hazards, and conduct accident investigations to maintain a safe work environment
- Provide hands-on training to operators to ensure consistent, high-quality product assembly; audit methods and enforce adherence to manufacturing and safety standards
- Implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring failure modes and improve product reliability
- Apply and uphold quality standards and standard operating procedures; report non-conformances and support resolution
- Collaborate with engineering teams during product development to ensure manufacturability and support smooth transition into production
- Manage and develop assigned team members; assess staffing and skill needs and implement plans to meet departmental goals
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
- Leadership skills with a focus on team development and motivation
- Skilled at simplifying complex situations into easily understandable components
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize and delegate tasks effectively to consistently deliver high quality on-time products
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across teams
- English fluency required
- Associate’s Degree in a technical application; Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred.
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines in a production volume environment.
- A strong preference will be given to candidates with Lean Manufacturing Experience
- Minimum of 3 years in progressing leadership roles including direct supervision of a factory team
