What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator – Purchasing position at Proto Technologies, Inc.?
About Us
Proto Technologies is a precision CNC machining and rapid prototyping company supporting Tier 1 aerospace and defense customers. We operate under AS9100D quality standards and ITAR requirements, with facilities in Liberty Lake, WA and Post Falls, ID. We're a growing team that takes pride in precision work, reliable delivery, and long-term customer relationships.
The Role
We're looking for an organized, detail-driven Program Coordinator – Purchasing to manage purchasing execution and order coordination across multiple customer accounts. You'll be the point of contact keeping orders on track, suppliers accountable, and customers informed — juggling several accounts at once rather than a single dedicated relationship.
This is a purchasing- and coordination-focused role, not a project management position — you won't own program budgets, schedules, or supplier contract negotiation. You will own the day-to-day execution that keeps multiple customer accounts running smoothly.
What You'll Do
● Process purchase orders from requisition through receipt for multiple customer accounts
● Track open orders and proactively follow up with suppliers on status, delays, and delivery dates
● Hold regular status meetings/check-ins with assigned customer accounts
● Handle general purchasing needs across accounts and communicate status internally to leadership and staff
● Provide front-line phone/administrative support as needed
● Escalate quality issues to our dedicated Quality team and pricing/scope questions to the appropriate internal owner
What You'll Bring
● Experience in purchasing, procurement, order coordination, or customer service (manufacturing environment a plus, not required)
● Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize across multiple accounts and competing deadlines
● Clear, professional communication style — comfortable with both customers and internal teams
● Comfort with purchasing/ERP software (we'll train on our specific systems)
● College degree is a plus, but not required
● Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR 120.15), due to access to export-controlled information
