Driver Helper

Position Description:

ProTek Recycling, Incorporated is seeking driver helpers to work on our pick-up crew collecting electronics from office buildings. Routes are to New York City, Boston and the NY Capital Region. Full time hours are worked over 4 workdays (no weekends) and three days off. Crews leave the warehouse at 5:30 am. Pickup routes are designed to get our crews in & out of the city before commuter traffic is typically heaviest.

Work Summary:

• Remove electronic equipment from client offices using material handling equipment
• Give navigation guidance to pickup locations for the driver.
• Contact clients to confirm times, locations of entry points, building access requirements, security details, etc.
• Communicate with clients regarding the pick up. Document the materials picked up, and provide excellent customer service
• Use material handling equipment efficiently
• Load and pack the truck in an efficient and secure manner, labeling the equipment as per company policy
• Have problem solving skills, be professional, able to work as a team and be motivated individually
• When not performing pickups, this position will also work in the warehouse to help load and unload trucks, process inventory, disassemble equipment with basic power tools.
• This position will need to maintain quotas for warehouse work performed.
• Other tasks as asked by management
• Some shifts each week will report at 5am. A reliable method to get to work is required. Shifts lengths vary between 8 and 12 hours long. A standard workweek will be approximately 35 to 45 hours long over a 4-day work week.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in delivery/pickup industry (preferred)
• 18 years old
• Customer Service experience
• Background Checks
• Drug screenings (non-marijuana)
• Able to lift, pull, push 75 lbs throughout the work shift
• Punctual and reliable: runs leave around 5am
• GED/HS Diploma
