Key Responsibilities
- Lead installation of fire alarm systems from rough-in through final inspection
- Program, configure, and commission fire alarm control panels
- Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues efficiently
- Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and specifications
- Perform system testing and ensure compliance with NFPA 72 and local AHJ requirements
- Coordinate inspections with local authorities and fire marshals
- Supervise and train junior technicians and assistants
- Ensure proper material usage, device placement, and system labeling
- Fill out fire inspections and permits reports
- Maintain accurate documentation, as-builts, and programming records
- Communicate job progress, issues, and change orders to project management
- Follow all company safety protocols and job site procedures
- 3–5 years of fire alarm installation experience
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 72 and local fire codes
- Proven experience programming major fire alarm panels (Honeywell, Notifier, Silent Knight, Fire-Lite, Siemens, etc.)
- Ability to run a job independently without constant supervision
- Experience leading or mentoring technicians
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- NICET Certification (Level II or higher preferred)
- Manufacturer certifications (Notifier, Honeywell, etc.)
- OSHA 30 and SST
