Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for a Project Engineer to join our team for a major highway infrastructure project in Georgia, USA (on-site position).
Project: Large-Scale Highway Infrastructure Development
Estimated duration of the position: 24 months.
In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.
Summary
The Project Engineer will act as the Developer’s technical representative, responsible for reviewing, coordinating, and monitoring design and construction activities performed by the Design & Construction partner. The role ensures that all deliverables comply with contractual, regulatory, and technical requirements while maintaining consistency across disciplines and project segments.
Main Responsibilities
- Review and coordinate design and construction activities carried out by the D&C partner.
- Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with public agencies, quality firms, and project stakeholders to ensure project delivery.
- Support senior management, including the D&C Manager and Chief Technical Officer.
- Engage with contractors and subcontractors to support project execution.
- Analyze contractor schedules using Primavera P6 and support monthly reporting.
- Support problem-solving related to non-conforming work.
- Coordinate with QA teams to address technical issues.
- Analyze and manage large datasets using Excel and reporting tools.
- Prepare and support reporting activities based on project feedback.
- Conduct regular site visits to verify construction progress.
- Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Support oversight of construction activities related to operational facilities.
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9 hours — (1-hour break)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with major heavy/civil contractors (road projects preferred).
- Experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working with public agencies (preferred).
- English level: C2 (Advanced/Fluent).
- Local profile required (U.S. work authorization).
