Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC/Originating Operator & Tool Service to join our team. This hands-on role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment, as well as maintaining and managing tooling for manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Operator (primary role):
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (e.g., Haas Lathe ST-20Y) using Mastercam and G-code.
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints for machining operations.
- Conduct first-article and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and CMMs.
- Optimize machining processes for quality and efficiency.
- Maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance.
Tooling & Originating Operations:
- Operate and maintain H-frame hydraulic press (training provided).
- Qualify, assemble, and kit tooling for cold nut formers.
- Manage tooling inventory; issue, receive, and track tooling with database systems.
- Perform changeovers per production schedule.
- Prepare material for wire draw machines.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
- Perform basic maintenance, tightening/loosening of parts, use hand/power tools.
- Accurately document production, S.P.C. data, material verifications, and ERP entries.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of CNC programming and operation experience.
- Proficiency in Mastercam and G-code programming.
- Strong mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot tooling/machining issues.
- Experience with measuring tools (micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Solid math and computer skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
