CNC Operator/Programmer

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CNC/Originating Operator & Tool Service to join our team. This hands-on role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment, as well as maintaining and managing tooling for manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

CNC Operator (primary role):

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (e.g., Haas Lathe ST-20Y) using Mastercam and G-code.
• Interpret technical drawings and blueprints for machining operations.
• Conduct first-article and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and CMMs.
• Optimize machining processes for quality and efficiency.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance.

Tooling & Originating Operations:

• Operate and maintain H-frame hydraulic press (training provided).
• Qualify, assemble, and kit tooling for cold nut formers.
• Manage tooling inventory; issue, receive, and track tooling with database systems.
• Perform changeovers per production schedule.
• Prepare material for wire draw machines.
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance, tightening/loosening of parts, use hand/power tools.
• Accurately document production, S.P.C. data, material verifications, and ERP entries.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of CNC programming and operation experience.
• Proficiency in Mastercam and G-code programming.
• Strong mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot tooling/machining issues.
• Experience with measuring tools (micrometers, gauges, etc.).
• Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Solid math and computer skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
