About ProTech Restoration
For 20 years, ProTech Restoration has been Chicagoland's trusted partner for water, fire, mold, and bio-hazard recovery. We're IICRC-certified, work directly with all major insurance carriers, and respond within 2 hours around the clock. When families and businesses are at their worst, we show up — and we need leaders who do the same.
The role
You're not just a technician — you're the face of ProTech on every job site. You'll lead a crew from first response through final documentation, making judgment calls in the field, communicating clearly with customers going through some of the most stressful moments of their lives, and setting the standard for quality and accountability on your team.
This role carries real responsibility — and real earning potential to match.
What you'll do
- Lead and coordinate your crew across water, mold, smoke, and bio-hazard mitigation jobs from start to finish
- Serve as the primary point of contact with customers on-site — communicating progress, setting expectations, and representing ProTech's standard of care
- Perform and oversee technical work: water extraction, demolition, equipment setup and monitoring, moisture readings, and structural drying
- Complete accurate documentation, moisture logs, and job notes daily — this directly impacts your commission
- Coach and develop junior technicians through example, feedback, and mentorship
- Coordinate with project managers and office staff to keep jobs on timeline and scope
- Respond to emergency calls as part of the on-call rotation
What we're looking for
- 2 years of hands-on restoration experience (water, mold, fire, or bio-hazard)
- WRT certification (or willingness to obtain — we'll sponsor the right candidate)
- Strong communicator — you can explain a drying plan to a homeowner and a scope change to a project manager with equal confidence
- Natural leader — you take ownership, hold your crew to a high standard, and others follow your lead
- Detail-oriented — accurate readings, documentation, and timelines matter to you
- Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation to get to work on time
- Able to pass a background check and drug screening
