Respiratory Therapist

General Expectations

1. Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, and patient protocols.
2. Comply with all current government regulations and professional standards respecting patient care.
3. Develop/maintain technical knowledge of the respiratory products/services provided by AMP and be able to provide information of same to others upon request.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Educate patients in proper use and care of respiratory equipment, primarily PAP equipment in both the office and home settings. PAP education/instruction may also be performed as either Virtual (TeleHealth) In-Home or Virtual In-office visits.
2.  Utilize SleepGlad software for mask fittings according to AMP policies and procedures.
3. Inform the physicians and appropriate others of the changes in the patient's condition/status through reports and email, fax and telephone communications.
4. Assist in resolving patient therapy and equipment problems.
5. Perform troubleshooting and required maintenance checks on PAP related equipment, bag and tag and enter into Brightree according to AMP policy.
6. Document/complete timely and accurately all therapy and patient interactions into Brightree along with appropriate paperwork according to AMP policy.
7. Assist compliance team with achieving AMP patient compliance goals.
8. Maintain PAP pick up rates in accordance with AMP goals.
9. Deliver patient care in a professional and courteous manner meeting the customer services standards according to AMP policy.
10. Provide patient equipment and supplies according to the physicians’ prescription while achieving AMP goals and standards for same equipment and supplies
11. Assist with implementation of quality improvement program to meet company and accreditation standards.
12. All other duties as assigned

Experience & Qualifications include:

1. Associates Degree required
2. Experience in HME or Home Health industry preferred or equivalent experience in respiratory therapy.
3. Effective verbal and written communication skills
4. Must carry personal liability car insurance with a minimum limit of $100,000.
5. Knowledge of Respiratory Therapy and related HME equipment.
6. CRTT, RRT, LPN or RN
7. Courteous Customer Service (internally and externally)
8. Must love helping People (both internally and externally)
9. High level of attention to detail
10. Able to manage multiple priorities and close the loop when interrupted
11. Must be able to pass background requirements and drug screenings
12. Must have valid driver’s license with proof of clean driving record

Physical requirements

1. Occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs
2. Ability to stoop, bend over, kneel, sit or stand for extended periods of times as needed to meet customer’s needs
3. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is required to sit and stand.
4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
5. This position requires the ability to drive an automobile
6. Must be 21 years of age to comply with company auto insurance regulations.
