ITAD Technician
Protech Asset Lifecycle Inc. | Elk Grove Village, IL | Full-time, on-site
Protech Asset Lifecycle is hiring an ITAD Technician to process used computers and other electronics. You’ll inspect and inventory equipment, identify data-bearing devices, perform data wiping or physical destruction according to work instructions, and keep accurate records from receipt through final disposition.
What you’ll do
- Receive, count, label, and audit laptops, desktops, servers, drives, and related equipment.
- Record asset details, serial numbers, conditions, and test results in our inventory system.
- Test equipment and sort it for reuse, parts recovery, or recycling.
- Wipe drives, verify results, and document exceptions. Prepare devices for physical destruction when required.
- Maintain chain-of-custody records and keep data-bearing material in designated secure areas.
- Follow written procedures for handling, sorting, safety, and quality control.
- Help identify process errors and improve the accuracy of our work.
What we’re looking for
- Careful, dependable work and strong attention to detail.
- Comfort using computers, scanners, and inventory software.
- Ability to follow documented procedures and handle customer assets responsibly.
- Experience with IT hardware, electronics recycling, warehouse operations, or data destruction is helpful. Training is available for the right candidate.
- Ability to perform hands-on work in a warehouse setting, including standing for much of the shift and moving equipment safely.
