Scope of Work:
Support the uptime of production equipment at our Indiana facility. The Maintenance Technician assists with preventive maintenance, responds to equipment breakdowns, performs routine repairs, and helps maintain an organized maintenance workspace. This role works under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager while developing technical skills and contributing to reliable plant operations that support our core values of Superior Quality, Continuous Improvement, and Urgency.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Support & Basic Troubleshooting
Assist with diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues under Maintenance Manager guidance.
Replace basic components (bearings, belts, filters, switches) following standard procedures.
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
Preventive Maintenance Execution
Complete scheduled PM tasks (lubrication, inspections, adjustments) per checklists.
Document completed work accurately in maintenance logs.
Report any abnormal conditions or potential failures to Maintenance Manager.
Parts & Inventory Support
Receive, label, and organize spare parts in designated storage areas.
Pull parts for repairs and update usage records as directed.
Notify Maintenance Manager when parts inventory is low.
Facilities & Equipment Support
Assist with facility upkeep in production areas (lighting, cleanup, minor repairs).
Support equipment moves, installations, and production line setup changes.
Help coordinate with outside contractors when specialized work is needed.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all LOTO (lockout/tagout), PPE, and safety procedures without exception.
Maintain clean and organized work areas to prevent hazards.
Report safety concerns or equipment issues immediately to Maintenance Manager.
Learning & Development
Actively learn equipment operations and develop troubleshooting skills.
Take initiative to ask questions and improve technical knowledge.
Contribute ideas for maintenance improvements and efficiency gains.
Minimum Qualifications
1 years industrial maintenance or related mechanical experience (or relevant technical training).
Basic understanding of mechanical systems, hand tools, and power tools.
Ability to read and follow work instructions, checklists, and basic schematics.
Willingness to learn electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Strong work ethic with ability to work independently once trained.
Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain within 60 days.
Preferred Qualifications
Manufacturing or woodworking industry experience.
Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge (24V/120V systems).
Welding or fabrication skills.
Experience with computerized maintenance systems or Excel documentation.

Physical & Work Requirements

Flexibility for occasional overtime, weekends, or off-shift coverage for urgent repairs.
Adhere to all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area.
