This role is ideal for someone who values structure, precision, and pride in consistent, high-quality work —true Craftsmans apply!. The successful candidate will install, terminate, and test fiber optic and structured cabling systems, follow established methods, and ensure every connection is documented, labeled, and verified to spec.

Key Responsibilities

·       Install, terminate, and test fiber optic (SM/MM), Cat6, and low voltage control cabling according to BICSI and NEC standards.

·       Install pathways to support low voltage systems.

·       Perform OTDR testing, power meter verification, and complete all test documentation for each fiber segment.

·       Maintain clean, labeled, and well-organized installations with precise cable routing and professional finish.

·       Interpret and follow construction drawings, riser diagrams, and schematics with minimal supervision.

·       Mount and terminate patch panels, racks, enclosures, and devices using approved labeling conventions.

·       Collaborate with supervisors and peers in a methodical, team-oriented manner.

·       Follow and enforce safety, quality control, and housekeeping standards on all job sites.

·       Provide mentorship to junior team members by demonstrating craftsmanship and patience.

Ideal Candidate Traits (Craftsman Profile)

·       Takes pride in perfecting details and doing their best work every day.

·       Prefers stability and predictability in their role, with clear expectations and repeatable processes.

·       Works best when they can focus deeply, avoid chaos, and complete tasks to high standards.

·       Values precision and accuracy over speed or improvisation.

·       Follows standards and procedures faithfully for consistency and quality.

·       Enjoys mastering their craft — becoming experts in fiber splicing, terminations, testing, and cable routing.

·       Stays loyal to their team and company, taking ownership of their workmanship.

·       Seeks long-term growth, learning new technologies while grounded in process and reliability.

Required Qualifications

·       Minimum 2 years experience in structured cabling, fiber optics, or low voltage systems.

·       Familiar with TIA/EIA, NEC, and BICSI standards.

·       Proficient with fiber terminations (LC, SC, MPO), OTDRs, and power meters preferred.

·       Strong mechanical and layout skills; understands routing, bend radius, and conduit fill ratios.

·       Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.

·       Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work on lifts.

·       Ability to pass a drug test. We are a drug free workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

·       BICSI Installer I/II or Technician Certification preferred.

·       FOA CFOT or manufacturer fiber training.

·       Experience installing access control and CCTV systems preferred.

·       OSHA-10 or OSHA-30.

·       U.S. Federal clearance eligibility preferred.
