Summary:
We are seeking an experienced IT Field Services Cable Technician to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network and telecommunications infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work in structured cabling environments and collaborating with technical teams to support enterprise network operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test Cat6A cabling in enterprise environments
- Perform maintenance and repair of network and telecom infrastructure
- Troubleshoot connectivity and physical layer issues on-site
- Read and interpret floor plans and cabling diagrams
- Support both copper and fiber optic cabling installations
- Patch and manage network equipment connections
- Coordinate with IT teams, engineers, and contractors for deployments
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades and expansion projects
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience as a cable technician or infrastructure technician
- Strong understanding of structured cabling standards (BICSI preferred)
- Experience terminating and testing Cat6A cabling
- Knowledge of copper and fiber cabling systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical floor plans
- Experience patching network equipment
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4–6 years of relevant experience
- BICSI certification or similar vocational training
- Associate degree in a related field
- Experience working in campus or enterprise environments
