Salary Range:
- Registered (CADC-R or equivalent):$50,000 - $60,000 per year
- Certified (CADC-I or higher):$60,000 - $75,000 per year

Summary of Major Responsibilities:
The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor at Prosperous Health San Diego provides direct client services, including individual and group counseling, case management, and relapse prevention planning. Reporting to the Clinical Supervisor, this role is critical in supporting clients through their recovery journey and ensuring the delivery of evidence-based, client-centered care.
Detailed Duty Statement:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions using evidence-based practices to support clients in their recovery process.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, ensuring alignment with clinical goals and best practices.
- Facilitate educational sessions on substance use, relapse prevention, and coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide case management services, including referrals to community resources and care coordination with other providers.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to assess client progress and adjust treatment plans.
- Participate in clinical supervision, case reviews, and team meetings to ensure consistency and quality of care.
- Support clients in developing life skills, building resilience, and achieving personal goals.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality in all client interactions.
- Stay current on best practices and advancements in addiction counseling through ongoing training and professional development.

Qualifications Needed:
- Registered Counselors:Current registration as a CADC-R, RADT, or equivalent in California.
- Certified Counselors:Current certification as a CADC-I, CADC-II, or higher in California.
- Completion of at least 90 hours of addiction-specific education, with ongoing CEU requirements as per ASAM guidelines.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, preferably in outpatient or residential settings.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based practices in addiction counseling, such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and relapse prevention strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and clinical documentation.
- Commitment to ethical practice and client-centered care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
