Assistant Winemaker/Bottling Line Operator
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position is a full time position working under the supervision of a winery manager
or warehouse manager. In addition to the responsibilities listed below, the duties
include but not limited to assisting the winemaker, operate machinery and other
equipment, picking orders, moving inventory, and performing general
warehouse/winery duties. Conditions can range from warm in the summer to cold
in the winter. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to stand; walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch, bend and twist.
Perform wine movements and pump-overs
Rack wine, topping, additions, blending and other winemaking duties
Clean/maintain tanks and barrels
Moving, checking, and handling inventory
Picking and Packing Inventory including Unload/Load orders
Clean and sanitize winery equipment as well as clean and maintain warehouse equipment
General Winery/Warehouse housekeeping duties including but not limited to: sweeping,
keeping areas clean, removing waste products, and any other duties as directed by the
supervisor
Ability to work with pumps, filtration, gases, fittings, hoses, tanks and other equipment used
in cellar and winemaking processes
Bottling Operations, including preparing wine for bottle, packaging, and quality control
Able to perform basic troubleshooting and setup of all bottling equipment
Observes, identifies and corrects current and potential problems with line equipment and
communicates to the appropriate person.
Keep proper notes on Wine movements, blends, and bottling
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to lift, push or pull up to 55 lbs.
Able to operate forklift, and other manual warehouse equipment
Ability to support overtime work hours when required
Work independently, dedicated and efficient
Be mechanically inclined or have prior experience with Bottling/packaging equipment
Strong verbal and written skills
