Position Overview
Our client is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join their integrated Behavioral Health team in Lorain, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity to provide comprehensive psychiatric care in a mission-driven, community-focused organization dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare.
The PMHNP will provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment planning for adolescent and adult patients. This position offers a hybrid schedule, allowing the provider to deliver care both remotely and in person.
The provider will travel between 3 different clinic locations within a small geographic radius, providing flexibility while supporting access to behavioral health services across the community. Travel between the clinics will be limited and manageable.
The organization follows an integrated, patient-centered model, allowing the PMHNP to collaborate closely with primary care, women's health, dental, behavioral health, and community providers.
Compensation & Benefits
- $125,000–$150,000 annual salary
- Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and behavioral health screenings.
- Review medical, psychiatric, family, and social histories.
- Diagnose and treat mental, emotional, behavioral, and substance use disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide medication management and monitor treatment effectiveness.
- Prescribe medications and provide appropriate psychotherapeutic interventions.
- Provide psychiatric care primarily to adolescent and adult patients.
- Educate patients regarding medications and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, and other members of the integrated care team.
- Provide psychiatric consultation and recommendations to other healthcare providers.
- Refer patients to specialty services when clinically appropriate.
- Travel between 3 clinic locations within a small geographic radius as needed.
- Participate in peer review and quality improvement activities.
- Provide compassionate, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specialization.
- Current PMHNP board certification.
- Active Ohio APRN/NP license.
- Active DEA license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Must meet all applicable credentialing and privileging requirements.
- Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric, outpatient, community health, or nonprofit healthcare experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and medication-management skills.
- Excellent communication and therapeutic relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable working with a culturally diverse patient population.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within an integrated healthcare team.
- Strong computer and electronic health record skills.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Spanish-speaking ability is a plus, but not required.
