About the Role
The Sales Planning Analyst supports the Sales organization through data-driven sales planning, forecasting, reporting, and analytics. Reporting to the VP of Revenue Management, this role delivers actionable insights that inform customer strategy, evaluate program performance, and support business planning.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with syndicated data, forecasting models, and sales reporting tools in a fast-paced CPG environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain sales forecasts using syndicated shipment and sales data; analyze variances versus forecast and prior periods
- Support annual operating plan development and ongoing forecast updates
- Manage trade management software, including promotion setup, tracking performance, and validating results
- Produce and distribute recurring sales reports using tools such as Crisp, SPINS, and IRI
- Analyze inventory levels and sales performance at the distributor DC level
- Track customer planning milestones and maintain planning calendars and summaries
- Provide ad hoc analysis to support sales leadership and key customer initiatives
- Assist with administrative sales processes, including onboarding new customers
Qualifications
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with a strong affinity for numbers and data accuracy
- Solid financial acumen and understanding of sales performance metrics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; advanced Excel skills strongly preferred
- Ability to independently manage analyses and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2–3 years of relevant analytical experience preferred
- Prior experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) strongly preferred
