POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for managing a portfolio of problem loans and overdrawn deposit accounts. The problem loan portfolio will consist of both secured and unsecured loans, with the main concentration in real estate secured by a primary residence. Problem deposit accounts are both consumer and commercial.
Responsible for determining the cause of payment delinquencies, determining the appropriate collection action, and executing that action. Creativity in the recommendation of workout solutions is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Manage a portfolio of delinquent loans and overdrawn accounts.
- Make collection calls in both English and Spanish languages.
- Advise customers of their responsibility to repay their accounts and work closely with delinquent customers to discover and help resolve the problems that caused delinquency
- According to procedural guidelines, block Visa debit cards, place funds on hold, exercise rights of offset, place holds on accounts, temporarily or permanently suspend account usage.
- Answer internal and external phone calls.
- Enter ACH payments in Precision
- Explore loss mitigation options with customers
- Keep Consumer Collections Manager advised of any unusual occurrences
- Abide by applicable laws, rules and regulations governing collection activities
- Follow all compliance policies and procedures
- Prepare various collection letters to include demands, notices of acceleration, notices of offset, etc.
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality in all phases of handling sensitive data or account information.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
Associate degree with business courses or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; one year but less than three years collection related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Required:
One year but less than three years collection related experience and/or training.
Skills/Abilities:
Moderate computer application skills; including Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to make appropriate judgments and decisions with limited guidance.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to quickly assess problem loan and deposit account situations and implement solutions to resolve same.
Maintain professionalism when communicating with borrowers and others.
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and implement effective negotiation skills.
Good organizational skills, or ability to prioritize and complete various tasks within deadlines.
Ability to multi-task.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
40 hours per week.
