What You’ll Do
- Prepare patients virtually for telehealth visits by collecting medical history, medication lists, allergies, and vital signs when applicable (through remote monitoring devices or patient self-reporting)
- Assist providers during virtual visits by documenting clinical notes, updating electronic health records (EHR), and coordinating necessary labs, imaging, and referrals
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient communications, and handling telehealth platform navigation support
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up care, ensuring clarity and adherence
- Coordinate care with other healthcare team members, including nurses, specialists, and care managers
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA and telehealth regulatory standards in all interactions
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues patients may experience with telehealth platforms or remote monitoring devices
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of telehealth best practices, clinical guidelines, and digital health tools
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program
- 1-3 years clinical experience in a medical assistant or patient care role, preferably with some exposure to telehealth or virtual care
- Comfortable with technology and learning new digital health platforms and tools
- Strong clinical knowledge with excellent documentation skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills to educate and support patients remotely with empathy and clarity
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a distributed care team
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations
