The Role
The Medical Assistant will be the crucial link between our patients and our medical providers. You will be responsible for ensuring that the clinical side of the practice runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This role requires a balance of direct patient care and essential clinical administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:
Direct Patient Care:
- Escort patients to exam rooms, record complete medical histories, and accurately measure vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight).
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist the physician during routine check-ups and minor in-office procedures.
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as drawing blood (phlebotomy), administering injections or immunizations (as permitted by state law), and performing EKGs.
Clinical Operations:
- Ensure all exam rooms are fully stocked, sterilized, and prepared before each patient visit.
- Safely handle, process, and route laboratory specimens.
- Maintain and calibrate medical equipment according to clinical standards.
Clinical Administration:
- Accurately document patient encounters, lab results, and medication lists within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Assist with medication refills, prior authorizations, and calling patients with lab results or follow-up instructions under the provider's direction.
- Ensure strict compliance with all HIPAA, OSHA, and clinical safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Previous experience in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting is a strong plus.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and basic medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a comforting, professional bedside manner.
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a brand-new clinic environment.
