What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bench Technician/Welder position at PROSPECT MOLD?

The Bench/Welder Technician is responsible for the fabrication welding per customer specifications. Additional responsibilities will include assembly/fitting/polishing of aerospace and like tooling. The welder will work in conjunction with all other Departments, Supervisors and Project Managers keeping a positive attitude and a good work ethic.
DUTIES:
- Work in conjunction with the Bench and Inspection departments to meet all customer flow down requirements.
- Obtain and maintain weld certifications based on customer flow down information.
- Work with the Bench and Inspection departments and perform all required bench/inspection/polishing required for aerospace and like tooling.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper amounts of welding supplies are on hand to perform work in progress.
- Keep work area and machines clean and clutter free.
PREFERABLE CHARACTERISTICS:
- Self-motivated to get projects started on your own.
- Basic Machining Skills and Manufacturing understanding.
- Computer experience needed.
- Enjoy working in a team environment, interpersonal skills.
- Must communicate well with customers.
- Must be willing to work the hours needed to complete the job on time.
