What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Service Technician (SW) position at Prospect CharterCARE, LLC?
Summary: Performs a variety of duties in the areas of decontamination, preparation and packaging, of instruments for sterilization, storage and distribution of medical/surgical supplies and equipment. Participates in the collection, cleaning, and decontamination of used equipment and instruments from patient care areas. Assembles and tests instruments and equipment for proper working condition. Prepares packs for sterilization. Restocks carts and supply kits such as Crash Cart, Isolation Cart, Urological Cart, Latex Free Supply Box, General Spill Kit, etc. Operate and monitor gravity pressure, pre-vacuum and ETO sterilizers. Perform, monitor, and interpret routine sterilizer and washer/sterilizer efficacy testing. Process charges for supplies and equipment issued from CS.
Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
Licensure: CRCST certification preferred.
Experience: 6 months experience with instrument reprocessing preferred.
