About the Role
As an Electrician Lab Technician, you will be a key technical contributor responsible for supporting reliability and manufacturing testing of advanced automotive electronic hardware. You’ll work closely with engineering leads to bring up hardware, operate test systems, analyze results, build first articles, redline schematics, and troubleshoot failures. The work spans internal labs, external test facilities, and contract manufacturing environments.
Top Responsibilities
- Operate software user interfaces to exercise test equipment during hardware bring-up
- Own calibration and mechanical setup of thermal and vibration chambers
- Troubleshoot, root-cause, and document failures related to DUTs, test equipment, and wiring harnesses
Key Responsibilities
- Operate automated and semi-automated test systems during hardware validation
- Validate system functionality using standard lab equipment:
- Oscilloscopes
- Power analyzers
- Power supplies
- Digital multimeters
- Perform and maintain calibration of lab equipment and environmental chambers
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and system-level issues and document findings clearly
- Perform electronic rework, including soldering and de-soldering of PCB components
- Support commissioning and bring-up of new test systems and lab infrastructure
- Assist with first-article builds and schematic redlining as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience in electronics testing or lab environments
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Electrical schematics
- Engineering drawings
- Manufacturer product data sheets
- 5 years of experience building or supporting:
- Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
- Industrial automation or test systems
- Strong hands-on skills with:
- Soldering and PCB rework
- Power tools and lab instrumentation
- Experience performing electrical testing using standard laboratory tools
- Comfortable lifting and moving test fixtures, equipment, and instrumentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft and Google productivity tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
- Self-motivated, hands-on mindset with the ability to proactively identify and close gaps
